SEPTEMBER 2018 HOROSCOPES

TIME TO BE THE GROWNUP IN THE ROOM

Last month brought many revelations on the personal and political fronts, thanks to Mercury and Mars moving direct on Aug 19th and Aug 27th, respectively.

We can finally move forward from the confusion, stagnation, emotional troubles and relationships of the summer, even if carrying some battle scars. A new path is before us as we move into more serious terrain this fall, especially with the direct station of Saturn on Sept 6th.

SATURN DIRECT IN CAPRICORN

The Capricorn energy has been front and center for a decade and even more present since Saturn (planet of karma and conditioning) moved in Capricorn (sign of the establishment and hierarchies) last December. Saturn retrograded this past April 18th and at that point we may have experienced a slowing down of a project or relationship or the revelation of a problem of leadership or integrity. Whatever issue came up at that time is now up for review and resolution.

Saturn in Capricorn relates to the financial markets, governmental organizations, world leadership, particularly of a capitalist or corporate model and we have seen much devastation and corruption in these areas, long before Trump took office. In fact, as noted, the writing was on the wall once Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008 with the financial crisis. Since those inequities and crimes were never truly addressed, the issues are up for review and we are due for a major “correction” which is a euphemism for a depression era stock market crash, which may appear sometime in 2019 (regardless of the political landscape).

In other areas of life, Saturn in Capricorn asks us to commit to something with integrity for the long haul. If you are doing the right work, or cultivating the right relationship, you may see a great payout/crop/culmination in 2020, when Saturn and Jupiter conjoin.

In the meantime, over the next year and 1/2, finds ways to do your inner Saturn — i.e. take leadership and control of yourself and your responsibilities, handles issues with firmness and fortitude, focusing on the long-term results.

Saturn moving direct in Capricorn will give us more motivation to grow our business or ideas here:

ARIES — you can launch yourself or be chosen for a leadership role

TAURUS — greater opportunities with a foreign investor or enterprise overseas, you are not a victim of god or your thoughts

GEMINI — vetting the proper business partners, committing to a lover

CANCER — standing your ground in a relationship, not devolving into the role of parent and child

LEO — taking your job seriously, showing your leadership qualities, even if in a subordinate position

VIRGO — going the distance in a love relationship or creative project

LIBRA — establishing your roots, breaking free from your childhood past, either literally or figuratively, moving away from home

SCORPIO — using your words with consciousness and integrity, developing serious friendships

SAGITTARIUS — owning your skills and talents, making more money, establishing your business presence in the world, you’re here to stay

CAPRICORN — master of your own domain, leadership attributes

AQUARIUS — allowing yourself to have some structure and materialization, grounding yourself through spiritual practice

PISCES — establishing your presence in the world, on social media in group settings, you are a leader and have the right stuff

So as with most transits except for short inner planetary retrogrades, this is a slow moving, slow growth cycle. While 2 1//2 years in total, because Pluto and eventually Jupiter will be in Capricorn through 2024, you are seeding your future as we speak. Be patience, responsible, mature and persistent (all Saturn words) and you will see your efforts be rewarded manifoldly and perhaps permanently.

CERES INTO LIBRA

And while Saturn and getting back to work is the major theme of the month, it does not negate the need to focus on inner emotional needs as well. In fact, the problem with the modern world is that we are overly focused on “masculine” pursuits such as developing a brand, climbing the ladder of success, amassing power. Many of us seem to have lost the ability (or never had it) to nurture ourselves and our relationships. As the month progresses, the personal planets move from Virgo (self-improvement) into Libra (balance between self and others).

Ceres the mothering archetype moves into the sign of balance and art on Sept 6th. Some of the ways that we can nourish ourselves are through equal relationships or bringing more art and beauty into our lives. A civilized discussion, an appreciation of a thoughtfully crafted meal, hanging a cherished work of art in our living room, supporting others in overcoming unjust situations are ways to use the energy. It may not be enough to counterbalance the extremes of vile acts and statements in this election season, but we can start with eliminating conflict in our personal homes and environments.

Ceres in Libra on the 6th followed by the Sun and Mercury later in the month put the focus on relationships, equality, balance and cooperation:

ARIES — in all your relationships, personal and professional

TAURUS — in your lifestyle habits, support from health coaches, fitness trainers, the right mindset improves your physical health

GEMINI — in your romantic or creative endeavors

CANCER — making your home beautiful

LEO — in your relationships with friends, written words

VIRGO — making money through your creativity or “diplomatic” skills

LIBRA — feeling more at home with yourself for the first time in a long time

SCORPIO — relaxing into the sweetness of trusting god

SAGITTARIUS — within your social network, group connections

CAPRICORN — in your leadership role

AQUARIUS — meditative practices,

PISCES — in your sexual and financial connections

MARS INTO AQUARIUS

After the very onerous summer of challenges with men, conflict and social media due to the Mars retrograde, the planet of action/aggression and adventure/ambition, moves back into Aquarius, this time in forward motion. Ideally, we would have worked through some of the very old issues (even if experienced with new people) in the past few months.

Some of the themes were individuation, intimidation, dissociation by partners, traumatic separations (again possibly triggering older wounds). If we’ve been able to air our grievances or at least understood them a little better, we can attempt to use the Mars energy in a more positive way.

Mars in Aquarius can be utilized in an affirmative way by asserting universal freedom, supporting the disenfranchised and immigrants (ruled by Aquarius), defending against psychotic behavior, calling out those who intentionally create chaos to assert their own agenda. Again, this can happen on the political front, but every issue that we are dealing with on a national or international scale may also be present in less toxic ways in our everyday interactions with loved ones and co-workers.

Depending on our sign, we can move into more intelligent warriorship here:

ARIES — in our community or social media feed

TAURUS — in our corporation or working environment, otherwise, potentially fighting the status quo ideology

GEMINI — discerning a higher truth and wisdom connected to our struggles to be independent

CANCER — handling our relationships with sexual or financial partners with greater impartiality

LEO — allowing our partner to find his or her voice, especially in the social media realm

VIRGO — considering ways to utilize technology more intelligently (and socially conscious) ways at work

LIBRA — being open to new romantic partners outside your normal comfort zone or pursuing new creative projects

SCORPIO — handling the drama in the family by actually detaching from it

SAGITTARIUS — using your words with fire and determination in a strategic way

CAPRICORN — incorporating social media in a new way in your professional life

AQUARIUS — allowing yourself to be an innovator or social justice warrior, you have lots to say

PISCES — slaying your doubts and fears that you are too crazy or too different to be heard

CHIRON RETROGRADE INTO PISCES

Chiron, the asteroid of the wounded healer, retrogrades back into Pisces for the last time on Sept 26th. He has tentatively dipped into Aries and has brought attention to the problems of our damaged senses of self. Some of the problems with fully expressing ourselves may be due to the emotional wounds we have sustained throughout this and many lifetimes on planet earth. As we wrap up this four 1/2 year transit, we get to revisit one more time, the source and resolution of earlier victimization, addiction or family/relationship abuse.

Hopefully we have addressed some of these issues with emotional healing work, regression therapy, past life, addiction counseling or whatever modality allows to inhabit our bodies and true selves more fully.

Depending on your sign, you may have finally resolved trauma and disillusionment in this area of life:

ARIES — faith in a higher power, you are not without universal support

TAURUS — your ability to envision a fuller life than one of mere survival

GEMINI — feeling you are mature and talented enough to be successful or the boss, resolving father issues

CANCER — learning to see the bigger picture and take responsibility for your view of the world

LEO — noticing where you may give yourself away to a partner

VIRGO — discovering the earlier imprint of picking partners who are not there for you

LIBRA — noticing how you may play the loser in a work situation, feeling helpless or useless

SCORPIO — discovering your unrealistic fantasies about relationships

SAGITTARIUS — realizing the lack of strong emotional support in your family of origin

CAPRICORN — noticing how your sensitivity was denied, especially by relatives

AQUARIUS — understanding that you are an artist at heart, accessing your feelings is better than shutting them down

PISCES — you are a survivor and can now thrive with your emotional intelligence

So a more productive serious time up ahead. On the business or project front, a lot can come together from now til the end of the year. Likewise, if wanting to extricate yourself from difficult or unfulfilling situations, you will be able to take the necessary and formal steps forward.

As Saturn moves more deeply into Capricorn, events in the world will become more serious with the most corrupted individuals and institutions eventually paying their dues. Likewise, if we have failed to take responsibility for our choices and actions, we too will be subject to some “disciplinary” action from the universe.

The best use of the energy over the next year and 1 1/2 is to stand in our integrity, maturity, certitude and wisdom and we will see the old world melt away as we begin to build the new one.

Astrology can show us both the disease and the cure. This month’s video is from 2013, when Chiron first went into Pisces. It reflects on the modern propensity for addiction and what the miracle of Chiron in Pisces can provide instead.
