The Magic of Aberdare National Park
Wow, what an experience…
For those of you who have been following me, you are well aware that I am currently living in Africa (Kenya to be specific). So far, it has been an incredible life experience, full of beauty as well as challenge (fortunately I am able to see the beauty in challenge too!).
I have been able to see and do things that I would have never thought I’d have the opportunity to be doing. For example, I never pictured myself fly fishing, let alone fly fishing with local fisherman in an African national park.
As you might know, this is something that organically came about for me recently, and it was an amazing experience.
Well, recently I was able to have a round 2 of sorts :)
Fly fishing was indeed a part of this experience as well. This time, however, we went to a new place entirely…Aberdare National Park.
And wow, expressing the beauty of Africa (and Mother Earth in general) is very difficult to do through words. Stunning, magnificent, jaw-dropping, surreal, vibrant, rich, lush, vivid. Just to name a few.
Inspiring to say the least.
And this time we had a real camera with us (no low-quality cell phone photos haha), so we were able to capture the essence of the land, animals, and experience much better.
You can check out the full spectrum of pictures and read the full story on my personal blog here: Fly Fishing in Aberdare National Park.
This is definitely a post you won’t want to miss. I can’t stop looking at the photos. And I wrote in great detail about what the experience was like.
One of the most enjoyable parts was to feel first-hand just how passionate the rangers are about nature and the land. You can feel their love and connection, and you can see it in their eyes.
Such a beautiful thing.
Don’t miss it.
