How to Easily Spice Up Your Text Game And Why You Want To
Texting your significant other can be a delightful experience that brings the two of you closer if it’s done correctly.
We spend so much time away from that special someone with work and social commitments. Oftentimes texting can be our primary source of contact.
While it may seem counterintuitive that such an impersonal mode of communication can bring you closer to someone I vehemently beg to differ.
Like most things in life, your success depends on your level of commitment, effort, and imagination.
Here are some proven ways to spice up your texting with your significant other:
Record a short audio message. This is so ridiculously easy and has unlimited potential for positive use.
I have recorded poems, songs, jokes and just a simple I love you and miss you.
Think about it. Wouldn’t you like to get a nice recorded message every once in a while? Of course you would.
And if you start doing it the chances of your significant other adopting it increase dramatically.
Most phones come equipped with an app for recording audio. If for some odd reason your phone does not have an audio recording app then your app store has a boatload of them for free.
After that it’s hit record and share via text message.
All that I said immediately above applies except you are recording a video message.
Some people are shy and don’t like seeing themselves on video.
But the video is not for you! The video is for the recipient, and if it’s your significant other they will LOVE getting this from you.
You can send someone the electronic equivalent of a greeting card by text.
This used to be something that could only be sent by email but now you can do it by text.
The cards are diverse and can be a very simple card-like greeting or filled with animation, games and music.
There are many that are free, and of course, some that you will have to pay a small fee for.
There are many other sites but many have hidden fees and lengthy sign-up procedures and I don’t want to piss you off sending you to them.
You don’t need me to tell you about selfies, but I would add that you can write a nice message on the selfie, or easily combine your picture with another picture, or send several throughout the day with different faces.
Dress up for that someone special and send a pic of yourself.
Let your imagination run wild and make that effort to entertain your significant other.
I love to send random shots of nice scenery I find throughout the day. Or just something or someone silly.
Something personal throughout your day to remind the person of you and that you are thinking of them.
You don’t have to be Oscar Wilde or Shakespeare to write some poetry.
Just send something heartfelt or silly … and make it rhyme.
It really takes 2 minutes or less. For example, this took me 20 seconds:
“I love you more than ever, Like longer than forever, I will break up with you on the 12th of never, I know you love me because I’m so clever.”
Totally stupid, totally easy, but sure to get some type of reaction. And any reaction is better than nothing.
Random Thought of Why You Care
Simply say something like: “One of the many reasons I am so crazy about you is your sense of humor. You make me laugh all the time.”
Or: “I loved what you were wearing yesterday. It really showed how great your body is.”
The real beauty of something like this is its randomness. If it's done every once in a while the surprise has a wonderful effect.
Even if this is something out of the ordinary and your significant other finds it unusual you can make it become normal and always say that you were just thinking about them.
Link to an Article on Something You Know They Enjoy
Whatever hobbies or interests your significant other has find articles online and send a link to it.
This shows you are taking an interest in something that they enjoy. It will bring them a great deal of satisfaction to know that you are making an effort to be engaged in something they love.
Write an Article
Better yet, write an article on Medium honoring your significant other and send them the link via text.
Perhaps it might embarrass them some, but you don’t have to use their name.
Here’s an article I wrote for someone very special.
Make or Buy Something and Send a Pic
I’ve made crafts or bought gifts and sent a picture of it with no explanation.
I’ve sent pictures or surprise reservations for dinner, or a show.
It’s always a nice surprise for someone.
Again, this is all effort, imagination, and commitment. Sustained.
Keep doing these things on a regular basis and it will make a difference in the quality of your relationship.
Most people simply want someone to show them some sustained attention. They don’t care how it’s done.
Texting is a golden opportunity to demonstrate how much you care for your significant other.
