Some folks have the capacity to do lots of different things. Whatever they put their mind to they succeed at. Whenever they get asked how they do it, they like to focus on “motivation.” Because they just need to want to do something, they have all the necessary skills and resources.

This advice is useless to most people. Most people don’t just need to want to succeed at something they also need the skills, resources, leisure time etc. to do it.

Emil wants us to succeed by needing “nothing.” Which is effective advice if we don’t have to count rent, food, an internet connection, a supportive social network, mental health, absence of of crippling addictions, free time, or capital, as things.
