It does not bother me that any of the Trump campaign camp met with any Russian for the purpose of gathering “dirt” on HRC. It bothers me, somewhat, that any one would prevaricate about the purpose or results of such a meeting. It would bother me greatly if any member of that camp broke any law in an attempt to exploit any information gained from any source.

Your opinion, Mr Wheaton, that such a meeting would “literally end” any other administration is, to adopt your parlance, bullshit. The exaggeration puts you, IMO, in the same genre of journalism you decry.

I suggest, as I surmise you do, that our society would benefit from more professional journalism (However, my concern might be irrelevant; I am encouraged by N. N. Taleb’s observations on the effect of IT creating local news sources.). I also suggest that ubiquitous and rigorous application of the law (a “conservative” principle) would strengthen the mechanisms in our society that are the subject of your piece. If Trump, Jr. broke the law, then let’s see him in front of a judge. If HRC broke the law by selling access to her office and rights to US uranium sources to those paying millions to her hubbie or donating to their “foundation”, then let’s see her in front of a judge, too.

I never argued with my children about bed time. One reminder was enough. Only a weak parent argues with a kid.
