My great grandfather Bert Wheeler and his partner Robert Woolsey were one of the most successful comedy teams of the 1930s. Second only to Laurel and Hardy at the movie box office, these veterans of vaudeville and Broadway were primarily responsible for keeping the fledgling RKO Radio Pictures afloat during the Great Depression years.
