Agree with you wholeheartedly. I find this article somewhat close-minded in its view on the issues and themes with the show (I’m up to season 4), and wonder what would happen if the author used the reasons he dislikes GoT to criticise something like Shakespeare's Macbeth. Many of the issues he has with the show also applies to those sorts of classical works — the difference is that one is now regarded as a bona fide classic of English literature, whereas the other is a TV show that hasn’t yet stood the test of time. It also reminds me of how Kurosawa’s Yojimbo was broadly praised by high-brow critics upon release, but Leone’s remake, A Fistful of Dollars, was condemned by those critics for portraying a casual atmosphere of violence, which Yojimbo also did.
