Phil Glanville for Mayor

Hackney Labour is fortunate to have many talented, dedicated people, and I can honestly say that I’d be happy to have any of our four candidates as our new Mayor of Hackney. Deciding who to back was tough as I consider all four of our candidates to be friends and comrades, and I look forwards to campaigning for whichever of them becomes our candidate next week (18:30 on Tuesday in Stoke Newington, meeting at the corner of Church Street and Bouverie Road, since you ask).

Today, Labour Party members in Hackney will make their choice and I hope you’ll join me in supporting Phil Glanville for Mayor. Phil’s plans for jobs, transport and education give me hope that Hackney really can be ‘a place for everyone’. His commitment to being a campaigning Mayor will bring new people into politics and put Hackney at the heart of Labour’s campaign for our NHS, for better housing and against Tory cuts to social security. And his record as a cabinet member for housing, where he’s overseen the construction of new council homes and led the fight against the Government’s ridiculous plans to extend the right to buy make me proud to be a Hackney Labour councillor. His hard work and commitment to keeping backbench councillors like me informed is exemplary, and his policy knowledge is seriously impressive. I know he’ll bring these qualities to the Mayorality for the benefit of everyone in our borough.

Vote Phil today! Polls are open 07:00–22:00 at the Pembury Community Centre on Dalston Lane.
