Asians — the Chinese in particular — were singled out and discriminated against in this country. Of course, they were not enslaved as the blacks were, but legislation was aimed directly at them just the same.
There was the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 that was not repealed until 1943. The Naturalization Act of 1870 gave citizenship to African Americans but excluded the Chinese and other Asians, who could not then vote, buy real estate, meaning no homes or businesses for them. They were deemed ‘unassimilable.’ In fact, then-Supreme Court Justice John Marshall Harlan wrote this in 1896: “A race so different from our own that we do not permit those belonging to it to become citizens of the United States. Persons belonging to it are, with few exceptions, absolutely excluded from our country. I allude to the Chinese race.” Wow.
Sure, everyone has a right to be a little pissed off, especially blacks. But to what end? How does that help their cause? Crying about white privilege is crying and nothing more. You may as well piss in the wind for all the good it will do. And many in the black community — although their message doesn’t play well in the MSM — will tell you as much.
Blacks are being misled by their own so-called leaders and politicians who have lied to them for decades. It’s a shame. And again, many blacks with common sense will tell you that the ones holding their people down are, in fact, their own people.
