Our First Amendment rights mean we can say what we want, with limits. You can say anything, but in some cases there might be consequences.
Protests should not be stifled. I don’t advocate that at all. If you want to protest someone appearing on campus, as an example, I don’t have a problem with that. But when that protest turns violent, forcing the cancellation of the event for safety concerns, that is where the line must be drawn.
Universities were once heralded as environments for the free expression of ideas. What happened?
We’ve reached a point in this country where people are intolerant of someone with an opposing view. Express that dreadful opinion, and you are ridiculed and demonized. You must be disgraced, fired from your job, ruined financially. Really?
Liberals are the tolerant ones, right? Unless you disagree with one.
