Today’s Cardano NFT project is a pioneering project that merges the rich heritage of military history with cutting-edge NFT technology: LadSwag.
The previous guest was a veteran in this space and is building a gamified multimedia ecosystem inspired by the manga and anime world.

Hey, it was a pleasure meeting you at the community-led Cardano Summit 2023 in London.
For our readers, can you introduce yourself/team, where are you from, what are your backgrounds?
It was fantastic to connect at the Cardano Summit! I’m Christopher Balmforth MC, also known as Barney, a former British Army tank commander.
Leading LadSwag, I’m joined by an exceptional team dedicated to innovation and honour.
Our backgrounds are deeply rooted in military service and digital technology, bringing a unique blend of expertise and passion to our projects.
Together, we aim to bridge the worlds of military history and modern digital art, creating meaningful and engaging experiences for our community.
What is LadSwag? How are you utilizing NFT technology? And why Cardano?
LadSwag is a pioneering project that merges the rich heritage of military history with cutting-edge NFT technology.
Our mission is twofold: to honour the brave men and women who have served and to empower our community through impactful charitable endeavours.
We utilise NFT technology to create detailed digital representations of British Army regimental badges, combining historical accuracy with stunning craftsmanship. These NFTs are more than collectibles; they serve as a medium for education and engagement, bringing the stories of our armed forces to life.
We’re also proud to announce our trailblazing role in the on-chain game Trait Wars, where our NFTs can now be used to battle against each other. This added utility enhances the value and engagement of our NFTs, making them not just historical artefacts but dynamic assets in a strategic game.
We chose Cardano for its robust security, scalability, and commitment to sustainability, aligning perfectly with our values and long-term vision.
As a veteran yourself, could you share with us some of your experiences and how have they affected your life?
What are some of the most common struggles that veterans go through?
Serving as a British Army tank commander was a life-changing experience that instilled in me values of loyalty, integrity, and resilience.
Transitioning from military to civilian life is often challenging for veterans. Common struggles include finding a sense of purpose, adjusting to a new identity, and dealing with physical and mental health issues. These experiences have profoundly shaped LadSwag’s mission to support veterans.
By raising funds through our NFTs, we aim to give back to those who have given so much, ensuring they receive the recognition and assistance they deserve.
What does the future hold for LadSwag? What can you share about what’s coming?
The future of LadSwag is incredibly exciting. We are committed to raising 1 million ADA to support global charities. Our on-chain game, Swagger, will allow LadSwag NFTs to earn tokens, enhancing their utility and engaging our community in new ways. We’re also set to launch a meme token and a utility (metility) token called ‘$TONY’, which will further enrich our ecosystem.
Additionally, we will continue to develop historical projects, honouring our military heritage while exploring new digital frontiers. Our ultimate goal is to establish comprehensive blockchain services, from marketing to gatewayed IRL systems, creating a one-stop shop for newcomers to Cardano. This will make it easier for people to navigate and benefit from the Cardano ecosystem, driving adoption and fostering a supportive community.
