Thanks for this. Although I've not to date made my cat a homemade cat toy I'll look at this more slowly when I have time. If I knit or crochet anything she thinks the string is for her to play with of course so I have to be mindful. I love my cat but since I got back into knitting and crochet over the pandemic I've mostly made small projects like dishcloths and I don't want Her Ladyship's* spittle on those.

* Not her name - just a nickname I use sometimes. Real name is Tilly - the name she had at the Rescue organisation where I acquired her.
