Exactly this. A lot of people don’t seem to understand that businesses exist to sell things, not to champion particular positions. They may choose to do so, but that’s not their *why.* And I seriously doubt that a company like Nike would have made that decision without the data to back it up.

Besides, regardless of your personal position on kneeling for the anthem, and speaking purely from a marketing perspective, that’s one damn powerful ad.
