Why I choose the piano
The piano has been an unparalleled outlet for those seeking escape, creative expression, and simply fun and joy. Recent years have only seen more evidence of the benefits of piano come to light, linking music making to a healthy body, a healthy mind, and a healthy life.
I choose the piano because:
1. I feel that music with my heart
2. It calms my mind.
3. It allows me to open my mind and feel the life in a different way.
4. I don’t need to accompany the melody with my voice, just play and listen to it.
5. It gives me a healthy life.
For two hundred years, the piano has been a staple of the home, bringing together families and friends and strengthening communities with the power of music: bring a piano into your home today.
Some of my favorites musicians and their compositions:
. Ludovico Einaudi
He is an Italian pianist and composer, born 23 November 1955.
Einaudi composed the scores for a number of films and trailers, including The Intouchables and I’m Still Here, the TV miniseries Doctor Zhivago, and Acquarioin 1996, for which he won the Grolla d’oro for best soundtrack. He has also released a number of solo albums of piano and orchestra, notably I Giorni in 2001, Nightbook in 2009, and In a Time Lapse in 2013. Taranta Project, a collaborative album, was released in May 2015, and Elements was released in October 2015.
Some compositions: “Nuvole Bianche”-“Experience”-“Fly”
. Fabrizio Paterlini
Fabrizio Paterlini was born and lives in the ancient northern Italian city of Mantua. Paterlini began playing piano at six years old. Formal study in his chosen artistic endeavour came with five years at Campiani’s Academy, Mantua’s Academy of Arts, from where he graduated in Music Theory.
Starting from September 21, 2011, he composed, recorded and released on-line one song per week for all the Autumn Season. The project ended in December 2011, resulting in 14 songs, all included in his latest album “Autumn Stories”, released on February 20, 2012.
Some compositions: “Far Away From Here”- “The Clouds”-“Autumn Stories, Week 8”
. Yann Tiersen
He is a French musician and composer, born 23 June 1970.
His musical career is split between studio albums, collaborations and film soundtracks. His music involves a large variety of instruments; primarily the guitar, synthesizer or violin together with instruments like the melodica, xylophone, toy piano, harpsichord, accordion and typewriter.
Some compositions: “Comptine D’un Autre été”- “La Valse d’amelie”- “Mother’s Journey”
Yiruma is a South Korean piano music composer. The name “Yiruma” means “I shall achieve” in Korean. He was born in Feb 15, 1978 and started to learn the piano at home at the age of 5.
Yiruma’s musical style is easy to misclassify. Because his music is popular among many listeners who are not familiar with classical music, the solo piano instrumentation and tendency toward “movements” often leads to labels like “new classical” or “contemporary classical”.
Some compositions: “River Flows In You”- “Kiss The Rain”- “Maybe”
