There are a couple of other ways of visualising this information, a heat map (https://medium.com/@sachinkagarwal/public-cloud-inter-region-network-latency-as-heat-maps-134e22a5ff19) and my attempt at using contour diagrams (http://acomputerscientistlearnsaws.blogspot.com/2017/04/aws-regions.html) [from my oldish blog series on learning AWS] which shows that being on plains is good, but having to climb across mountain ranges to get from one plain to another is bad!
