How To Get Abs

This is going to be another “abs are made in the kitchen not the gym” post. Sort of. The truth is that if you want abs, it’s a mixture of growing them and then showing them. This post will focus on how to do both.

We all seem to think there are some secret exercises that reveal abs if done over prolonged periods of time. The truth is that training your abs is as simple as making sure that you have targeted the entire abdomen and then doing a consistent amount of reps on a frequent basis in order to build them. Once they are built it becomes about taking fat away to show them. Some good tough exercises are windshield wipers, hollow holds (which most people can do), hanging leg raises and hanging toes to bar. Some beginner exercises include sit ups, planks, and v-ups. All of these will help build your muscles. My favorite lay out has been to do 50 reps total everyday. Since they aren’t a huge muscle group, they recover more quickly so they can be trained at a moderate rate daily if you want to.

Now as far as the revealing goes, this is the harder part. By now you know that my view on diets is that counting macronutrients gives you the most options but how does this pertain to abs? Well, if you cut fat and get lean, then your abs can show. Having a good diet is key to having that six pack you always wanted. If you stick with it and continue to train how you have been, you will get abs. It’s really more about being consistent and true to your diet in this regard.

It really is a simple concept but it can become very difficult if you let it. You have to know that it is going to be tough and a long road. if you aren’t properly prepared you will fall into the trap of all the products and exercise plans that are sold that want to make money off of your desire for abs. It’s as simple as I stated above and don’t let anyone fool you that it isn’t.
