Elon Musk is vastly existentially good for the planet & humanity

I’m a big Steve Jobs and Bill Gates fan. They ushered in the personal computer with the GUI. And we might not have really good, high-res, non-scratch-able, finger-zoom-able smart phones without Jobs. His nutcase persistence on UX excellence got that for all of us.

Berners-Lee is near unbeatable for inventing the web. Bezos’ cloud was pretty anticipatory too. Page and Brin’s Google effectively invented the brilliant GPT LLM.

But IMO Musk is a hugely bigger thing for the planet & humanity than any of these innovations.

Because Musk is unique. And his technologies uniquely altruistically beneficial at a global scope.

Hardware and physics do not an easy startup make. Near impossible in fact. The world is not fair.

Even PCs were two orders of magnitude easier than cars, rockets, FSD and androids. There were a dozen smart PC entrepreneurs in the 1970s/1980s.

There is only one Elon Musk.

Musk’s efforts could and will vastly bolster efforts to usher in:

  • Climate change mitigation (EV & energy storage transition acceleration)
  • Sustainable GDP x10 helping the poor the most (affordable FSD autonomous driving & androids)
