ChatGPT is undoubtedly going to help everyone become smarter. But for now — we do have to check up that ChatGPT, or the underlying GPT-3 is not ‘hallucinating’.

Nevertheless, usually, GPT is on the mark.

Personalized education will be huge.

Why?

Because you can ask the questions that are bugging you. Clear up misunderstandings. Blockage points. Ask for a re-phrase. An analogy. More examples. The background of the part that’s bugging you. The historical background. The significance. The application.

It’s endless.

And this is day one.

I just had this incredible discussion with GPT-3 about how transistors work.

I had always understood why transistors basically work as switches controlled by the ‘base’ current creating ‘holes’.

But not why that allowed a larger collector current than the base current.

And hence I never really understood the true basis of the (literally) planet-changing amplifying effect.

Now I feel a bit silly (as a PhD physicist and electronics nut).
