What’s on Mothers Day

that we have to innovate,

a gift is not enough,

finding what else is tough.

An early balloon trip up the sky

lifting her spirit high.

A ride on a Ferris wheel

to give her a thrill.

A trip up the river

for her to discover

a panoramic view

with a lunch menu

and coffee to follow

to make her mellow.

To watch the sunset

down beyond the boat shed.

A fast limo to ride home

just in time for the phone

telling her you’ve got two opera tickets

to see the three sisters and their mother wicked.

Meet her at the entrance with bouquet

of seasonal flowers in May.

To round up the evening

staying in the Ritz till morning.
