Ten Years of Worthless Side Projects
Zach Dicklin

I would agree that you should look after your family first and you will have many years of happiness. If you want to really have a side project that is more than just scratching the surface then in my opinion it comes down to solving a real problem out in the world. Sit back, watch, look for things people are are having problems with for which there is currently no solution. Generally people will pay for a product or service that makes their lives easier/better/more fun. If nothing jumps out then busy your time with some reading and research to keep current. Don’t force ideas, the mind plays tricks on us. :) j
