Maybe It’s Time To Start A Content Calendar

I finally decided that I need a content calendar for the remaining days of this 30-day writing challenge.

Welcome to Day #17 of my 30-day writing challenge. Catch up on my journey here.

I’ve recently shared my golden rule for never running out of ideas to write about. It basically consists of:

  1. Resourcing to different platforms for inspiration;
  2. Creating a content backlog with the ideas that come up so you can write about them later.

This has been working pretty well for the past 17 days. However, sometimes, I look at my backlog and wish I had more options.

Most of the content in my backlog consists of ideas that would make great long-form content and, therefore, require hours of dedication. Some nights, I just don’t have that kind of time.

So, I finally decided that I need a content calendar for the remaining days of this 30-day writing challenge so I have more short-form options.

I was avoiding this because I didn’t want to get too focused on the topics I proposed and lose momentum for random bolts of inspiration. But that’s something I can overcome; if I feel like writing about something else on a particular day, I’ll just push the initial idea forward.

So, if you find yourself staring at a blank screen more often than not, maybe you should consider crafting a content calendar, too.

I’m starting mine on a Notion board.

Where do you like keeping your content calendar?
