I first read this story on the wall of a sub-sandwich national chain store I love.

I love the store and the store’s “unwich.”

What hits me about it is that so-called happiness is not something to pursue, but a state of emotional being that comes and goes of it’s own accord, if I let it.

Although the phrase, “pursuit of happiness” is in our Constitution and therefore in our DNA as a culture, it is a mythological idea. Rather, I value the freedom to unfetter myself in any way necessary to allow happiness to float on to the shoulder of my heart like a small butterfly looking for a brief respite from the weariness if endless pursuits.
