You write, “ Please let me know exactly when and in what media I have every argued that you were stalking her, or anybody else.”.
In your first comment. In the comment I was replying to. Where else?
You wrote, “If you want to do some online stalking, it’s no surprise to find you’ve been blocked.” . You also included “stalking” as a tag.
You were virtue signalling as a protective gentleman to Lana Voreskova, one of your 4 followers on medium.com . She didn’t accuse me of stalking her. You brought it up.
She was following me on medium.com right up to the time she wrote her condemnatory rant against me yesterday. That undermines the argument you raised that I was stalking her. She then immediately blocked me. She didn’t want me to read her rant in which she stated that I was living in a “self inflated bubble”. She wanted to solidify her reputation as a hardened bitch with her 74 followers on medium.com .
You also wrote, “ It really doesn’t matter if someone is a white, female professor at a university, or a black, male tramp. It’s what they have to say on issues that counts.”.
Well, I agree with you. It doesn’t matter. But what about a situation where a white female professor at a university isn’t who she says she is or a black male tramp isn’t who he says he is? Does that affect the quality of their argument? I think so. I think their dishonesty regarding who they are undermines their argument. We are informed by our pasts. We are all shaped by it for better or for worse. Our opinions are fuelled by our history. If someone is pretending to be someone else, that’s not a good start.
Between her medium comment of September 26th and her youtube comments on Stefan Molyneux’s video, Lana Voreskova has implied that she works as a professor at UCD where she specializes in history. UCD is the biggest university in the Republic of Ireland. She stated on youtube that she works as a tenured professor in a large university in the south of Dublin. She then ruled out Trinity College in her medium.com comment of September 26th leaving only one other possibility: UCD.
It’s interesting that Lana Voreskova won’t name the university she works in. She has clearly implied it however. It is also interesting that she has given different reasons why she won’t. In one of her youtube comments a month and a half ago (see link above), she wrote that she can’t name her college for legal reasons. In her September 26th medium.com comment (see link above), she wrote that she is not legally barred from naming it but doesn’t because she fears online harassment.
It looks like she doesn’t want people asking questions. If she were to name the university she works in, then, people would go investigate the UCD School of History website and ask her why her name is not mentioned there (or any other Russian sounding name if she’s using a pseudonym online).
For good measure, I also investigated the UCD School of Languages website and her name is not mentioned there either. (or any other Russian sounding name if she’s using a pseudonym online).
I think she doesn’t want people asking her further questions by naming the university she works in so she falls short of naming it though she clearly implies which one it is. That prevents people from asking the follow up question: “Why isn’t your name on the UCD School of History website?”
One of the reasons why I antagonized Lana Voreskova, I think, was because I had the chutzpah to skip right past asking the first question to point out to her that the UCD School of History website makes no mention of her name whether as a professor, adjunct professor, post doctoral researcher and so on.
Lana Voreskova has written, “My life is not an open book for strangers to read on the internet”. True. However, she did share a lot of information about herself on the internet for strangers to read, not just on medium.com. Here’s a comment on disqus from 3 months ago for example in which she writes about her brother’s experience of being falsely accused of rape.
She already volunteered the information that she’s a tenured professor at a university for strangers to read online. She already volunteered the information that she specializes in history for strangers to read online. She already volunteered the information that she works in a large university in the south of Dublin and it’s not Trinity college for strangers to read online. Strangers tend to reply and ask questions. I didn’t even ask her a question. I knew already that she wasn’t going to name the university she worked in so there was no point crossing that red line. I just pointed out that implying that she is a professor at UCD without evidence constitutes a claim and not proof until she provides the evidence. Even though I didn’t ask her for evidence, she blocked me anyway.
Two things I do regret.
First of all, in my medium.com comment of September 26th, I wrote to Lana Voreskova as follows:
“ I read an interesting (and sometimes entertaining) exchange that took place between you and Mankind Global Media 7 months ago. I think you were debating Kevin Wayne. Kevin Wayne is quite a piece of work. I have had a run-in with him myself. He is both a Hillary Clinton supporter and a Men’s Rights Activist at the same time. Quite an accomplishment!. It’s like when you press two like poles of a magnet together. As I recall, your argument was that foreigners can potentially make better historians of the local history than local people. This is because foreigners don’t carry the emotional baggage than the locals have. I agree with your argument. I think, Svetlana, you can be a great historian of the Irish in the years ahead, even better than the best local Irish historians. But, at the moment, with all due respect, I think you are still at the stage of learning the facts of Irish history.”
I regret writing that. I now think that Svetlana will never make a great historian of the Irish even in the years ahead if her meltdown yesterday is any indication.
She certainly lapped up my adulation in her response.
“ I admit that I am very much at the learning stage when it comes to Irish history. My field is modern European although I used to do medieval Spanish and French too. Of course Ireland pops in and out of European history, but I only really began taking an interest in it since coming to Ireland. I am reading a lot of it though so I will get there.”
She claimed a few months ago that the Irish that were sent to the West Indies in centuries gone by were slaves . That’s not true. I have my doubts that she has taken much of an interest in Irish history since arriving in Ireland, 9 years ago or so. I have read all of her comments on medium.com before she blocked me and a lot elsewhere and she hardly ever writes about Irish history. I think she has been bamboozled by Irish Republican propaganda which, in fairness to Lana Voreskova, is ubiquitous and difficult to avoid if one arrives on our shores with no prior knowledge of the local history or culture.
The second thing I regret was writing that this woman’s example was an inspiration to me. I take that back.
