Prove it in NEM — PROVER x NEM

People nowadays live on parallel universe, first there is the physical world and at the same time there is the digital or on-line world. People now-a-days don’t just go on-line, we also live on-line. People and technology had been evolving to benefit each other. It is very common now that we pay the bills on-line, order our food on-line, bank on-line, and the list goes on. Our digital existence can’t be denied and in fact sometimes to prove that something happened it should be posted on-line. Some say, it doesn’t happen if it isn’t on facebook/youtube. Unfortunately, not everything now posted on-line is true. A lot of ways to alter a content of a video that may discredit its authenticity, this is where Prover comes in. Prover is a blockchain based application and has a way to detect the metadata of a media (specifically a video) if it has been altered.

Prover’s technology can also be used to record a live video and directly timestamp the video in the blockchain to prove its authenticity. An auto-generated swype code created during the video recording makes the video more unique. This is an interesting technology that can be used in live reporting, obtaining video as evidence, accident recording/reporting and many others. This gives a solid credibility to any video presented as proof of an event. It also has a huge potential for video security and monitoring systems since it can be easily integrated to any existing video recording practice.

Implementing the concept on the NEM blockchain gives another great use case for NEM. Messaging, Namespace, and Mosaic are some of the NEM products used to allow Prover’s concept to run in NEM. Speed and low transaction fees also will contribute to the success of the project since it can ensure a cost-effective solution and operation.
