Is Donald Trump getting more popular?

According to the new Politico/Morning Consult poll of registered voters, Trump is getting a Post-Election bounce in favorability.

46% now say they have a favorable opinion of the President-Elect, compared with 37% just before the election, an increase of 9 points. Trump’s unfavorability rating dropped 15 points, from 61% pre-election to 46% post-election.

“Trump’s favorability among voters has reached new highs since he became president-elect. This honeymoon phase is common for new presidents.” — Morning Consult cofounder and Chief Research Officer Kyle Dropp in Politico

President Obama got a 20 point swing in his favor after the ’08 elections, according to Dropp.

After the 2016 election, Obama’s numbers went up as well. 54% of voters approve of the job he’s doing compared to 50% before the election. Prior to the election, 48% disapproved of the job Obama’s doing. Post-election, that number has gone down 5 points to 43%.
