Agree — case in point the author’s chosen bête noire, the Tamir Rice shooting. If inner-city neighborhoods weren’t plagued by so much gang violence, maybe when their residents saw a juvenile running about with a handgun, they wouldn’t think the worst and feel the need to call the police.
If one really wants to lay blame for the death of Tamir Rice, perhaps that would be the proper place to start (although I lay the primary responsibility with his weed-farmer parent — note use of singular — who raised him with little sense and allowed him to run wild).
