Any rational observer understood two things in that moment: the Russia Collusion story was dead, and that the reason Trump fired Comey was because Comey assured Trump three separate times he wasn’t under investigation, but, stupefyingly, wouldn’t say this to the public.

Agree with the overall premise — a corner has indeed been turned, and the Comey testimony was indeed the moment — but I think that 1) Comey’s admission to leaking and 2) Revelations re: Loretta Lynch’s conduct were every bit as important as the confirmation that President Trump wasn’t under investigation.

Comey really ruined his credibility with those two revelations — apart from the mouth-foaming partisans, who’s going to believe a leaker who admits to lying about a previous investigation?
