The rise of the far right in Germany doesn’t bode well for refugees

First, the idea that these ‘refugees’ are ‘fleeing torment’ is questionable — the vast majority are military age Sunni Muslim males, so it’s probably more accurate to say that they’re extremist tormentors looking for fresher, more profitable fields to ply their avocation.
Second, the idea that populism constitutes a ‘threat’ to the ‘refugees’ is pretty rich, assuming as it does that the wishes of a country’s citizens ought to be subordinated to foreigners. Heaven forbid a government should conform to the will of its people in a manner which inconveniences foreigners.
