Unless you have an aversion to subtitles, I would definitely recommend the 2008 French original of Martyrs over the 2015 US remake.

I don’t mind mixes when they‘re naturally done, but too many scream of marketing calculations. Jennifer’s Body just veered too close to Buffy The Vampire Slayer territory for my taste.
