We Were Soldiers earns rewatchable status from me on the basis of:

  1. Attention to detail. They even got the uniforms and gear right in the French/Viet Mihn battle at the beginning, which was a relatively small scene. That’s always a big plus in a war movie.
  2. Sam Elliot as Command Sergeant Major Plumley.

That’s in addition to just being a great story. Even Greg Kinnear managed to not be annoying.
