Thanks for sharing your story- maintaining weight loss like that is no small feat, and something to be proud of, bypass or not! You don’t need to necessarily get to a “normal” BMI in order to reap the health benefits of weight reduction. And yes, sugar and carb addiction are real and something I still haven’t quite mastered! But it’s important to keep biology in mind and stop blaming willpower- it takes 7–10 days for the brain to adapt to running on ketones as fuel, and during that time there will be a strong desire to quit!
As always, talk to your doctor about any changes to your diet, as meds may need to be adjusted and with bypass, nutrient malabsorption can be an issue.
