Great article, Jeff, and great to hear that the Gray Lady is actively pursuing a community-fueled approach to journalism. It’s a pretty big leap — if ever a newsroom thought it knew best, it was the Times. (or Slate?)

But by fairly recently adding a public editor position, and then proceeding to fill it with such capable and committed advocates for its readers, the Times is making at least some of the right moves.

I also eagerly await the fruits of the Coral community engagement project. Don’t this right isn’t easy, but it’s beyond necessary.
