Football legend Roberto Carlos to attend SIGMA 2019

The Brazilian world-cup winner Roberto Carlos will make a surprise visit to SIGMA iGaming conference, it has been confirmed by the Head of PR at LUCKY.io, Yelena Kensborn.

The football legend will attend an exclusive dinner as the guest of honour with some of the most prominent innovators, politicians and regulators in the iGaming and blockchain industry.

He will also be available during the first day of the conference at the LUCKY.io booth, located in the heart of the event. There will be selected times for fans to meet and take pictures with the star.

LUCKY.io will also run a lottery for exclusive items which all attendees will be able to participate in, free of charge. The aim is to give as many people as possible the opportunity to participate in the innovative blockchain technology that has taken the Maltese islands by storm.

The online blockchain-based casino first brought the Brazilian legend to the island back in September; in cooperation with Malta Football Association and children’s cancer charity Puttino Cares.

The charitable initiative was held at Marsa football ground as part of a weekend-long football marathon, which aimed to raise awareness for Puttino Care’s new London accommodation programme. It aims to give a home to more patients that undergo cancer treatment in the UK when they have to travel from Malta for specialist care.

Roberto Carlos spoke directly to the children, who attended the press conference.

“Love has no limit and when you do what you love, magic is very real. When you do what you love doing, you don’t need to force it” he said before heading to the football ground with the kids for a kick-around.

“We want to prove that the world is not a zero-sum game where there are winners and losers said Ms Kensborn, head of PR at LUCKY.io during the press conference, referring to blockchain technology changing the way businesses operate.

Malta has been a centre of technological innovation due to the government’s policy on Blockchain that has attracted many key influences to the island.

Recently, the hip-hop artist Akon attended the Blockchain summit to highlight the importance blockchain technology has on social impact projects. The hip-hop artist and producer spoke about his new token Acoin which aims to encourage young entrepreneurs, economic stability and growth across Africa.

He later gave out the Social Media Award in partnership with LUCKY.io to EthicHub — a startup helping agricultural communities to raise funds for their projects.

Akon himself has shown a great interest in blockchain by implementing the technology in his future plans. The artist has revealed that he will be building a smart city in Senegal that will encourage de-centralisation, entrepreneurship and innovation while uniting the African economy.

Roberto Carlos also stressed the importance of social impact during his last visit telling the crowd that “this is something I really enjoy doing and it is very important for everyone to do what they can to make a difference”.

After the football legends the last visit to Malta, he stressed that he “hoped to visit again”. Now, as the opportunities in the blockchain space grow, it is showtime! The world’s largest iGaming conference, the most innovative casino and a great football legend Roberto Carlos is here to bring it to you!
