With more than 6,000 blockchain enthusiast and AI aficionados, the third edition of the Malta AI & Blockchain Summit proved to be a powerhouse event as it gathered the world’s foremost thought leaders and renowned innovators in the blockchain space. The event last November 7 & 8 was also graced by more than 150 exhibitors and 700 investors — who pillared exciting opportunities for each attendee present at the event.
This year’s Artificial Intelligence & BlockChain (AIBC) Summit closed the year with numerous conferences and expos — with topics that revolved around various issues and challenges on the industry discussed by well-known experts and dignitaries such as Bobby Lee, Yorick Wilkes and David Orban. Celebrity guest Akon was also present at the event to provide entertainment as well as give his thoughts on this revolutionary technology.
For enterprising startups, the AIBC Summit was also a venue to pitch to investors about one’s project. Promising AI & Blockchain ventures are carefully selected by the organizers and are given at least a 20-minute opportunity to stand on stage and pitch to the crowd. For this year, the organizers also had the chance to select which organization gave the best pitches, with Photocert winning the best AI pitch while Gamerhash took home the business-supporting package of the year.
Akon Steals the Show
Grammy-award winner and co-founder of Akoin, AKON shared of his own perspective and his plans to further develop a platform for Africa.
Akon thinks that Blockchain and he were destined. Blockchain might be a big help in Africa. “Africa is our targeted market because Africa has the most challenges, if it works in Africa you can utilize that in any developing market around the world,” he said.
Akon donated two-star prizes during the awards night auction. The opportunity to name a street and a rare chance to be a guest on this special occasion, wherein the official Village Lighting Ceremony in Africa who has just received solar lights and power from Akon Lighting Africa. This is a much-awaited event for them because finally there will be light after dark.
