Yeah that’s a ridiculous question. There are charts that show the many different ways we can simply depict her flip-flopping — excuse me, “evolving” — on issues.
“Insider” — if you’ve ever had Thanksgiving at the White House, you’re an insider. She has had at least 8. Hillary Clinton is the definition of an insider. And she has most of the Democrats in the party wrapped around her finger, afraid to vote for anyone else. Her being an insider, or establishment, isn’t really up for debate. If I were her political advisor I would make sure she’s aware that she’s the last person to be able to deny that; play up your strengths (“I’m ready on day one” which is totally a soundbite that wouldn’t work on me but apparently it works on uninformed voters).
I like the “unlikability” of Hillary Clinton. There was a part of me that preferred her in 2008 and before Bernie entered the race I was content to vote for her, if only because of Supreme Court judges (which, by the way, will always be available). I think it’s unfair and sexist that she feels the need to present herself as “likable.” Everybody isn’t a fun, cute Bernie Sanders/Betty White type and everybody isn’t a sophisticated, badass Hillary Clinton/Marilyn Mosby type. Unfortunately women aren’t always encouraged to play up their strengths. (Please, no more dancing on Ellen!)
Her idea of compromise before getting to the negotiation table is so indescribably misguided and her history and plans for the US overseas is abhorrent. Every single one of her plans, from Wall Street to Climate Change, is just less ambitious than Bernie Sanders’, and when whatever you bring to the table will be compromised the logical place to start is further left! If I’m haggling you for an item that you want $50 for, and I’m willing to pay $40, I would think to start at $30 (or $25) and let you pull me to the middle. If I start at $45 and you’re pushing $60, Say we meet at $53- I end up paying more than what you even wanted! I don’t understand how this genius of a woman has made her campaign slogan out to be “Settle.” Even Joe Biden questioned it recently.
I want someone who will stand up for women and children, too, but not just American women and children.
