03 Childhood Memories of my Life

Everything is different when you’re a child: the trees are higher, the colours are brighter, and every new day is more interesting than the last. Even more importantly, some things happen that stay in our memory for a long time — in fact, sometimes they end up being with us forever.
For those who remember those moments from their childhood, I collected the following beautiful anecdotes — from the amusing to the sublime and touching. Maybe something similar happened to you as well?

1. When I was 9, I along with my younger brother and cousin used to go to fetch water from a spring as there was a shortage of water supply in our village during those days. That spring was about one and half kms from my home. There was a little canal on our way to spring which was made for irrigation purpose. There was also a small stream where canal had to cross over it. Now at this point the canal was made of concrete which was approximately 03 feet deep. One day we were swimming and having fun in that canal, suddenly my brother fell down in that stream on a stone. Me and my cousin frightened that my brother might got a serious injury and for next 15-20 seconds none of us reacted and then suddenly my brother started laughing. We were expecting a serious injury and frightened what should we tell at home, but my brother was enjoying even that part. It was a relief to all of us and we again came in that mood of joy.

2. The second childhood memory is also related to water only. I think then I was 10 years old. In our summer vaccations on every morning, me and my cousins left our homes after 7:30 to swim in a river called Behani. We had a lot of fun over there. A number of young boys like us came there for swimming. Some of us know swimming and other like me were amateurs. So we used to swam in the shallow water.

Once my cousin who was a good swimmer forced me and my friend into the deep water where he told us to caught the tail of buffalo and he himself sat on it. It was really a great fun to watch him like that , the buffalo 🐃 carried him upto 50 metres and then throw him into the water. Now it was our turn, that fellow forced us and told both of us to sat on the buffalo's 🐃 back. We sat on it and feared that it would swam into the deep water but we were confident and then buffalo🐃 drowned us into the shallow water and We were safe.😂😂

3. For me, childhood memories are all made up of recollections of tasty food. And you know what, your siblings, cousins and friends are the only partners in crime in your childhood days. I am going to share an incident when I was 11 years old. We were invited in a marriage ceremony at one of our relatives' son. The place was quite far away from our home. After the next day of the marriage an Aunty invited me and my cousins at her home for tea. She asked our parents and took us to her home. We reached there her husband and brother in law offered us water and after sometime aunty came with tea, biscuits, snacks and some sweets ( Kaju Katli). We took our cups and then she offered us snacks and sweets. Each of us took one piece of barfi. Aunty insisted us to took more but we were feeling shy and refused. We finished biscuits and now our eye was on the plate of barfi but we were hesitating because our parents told us not to finish everything in others' home which is not a good sign of sincerity.

When we finished our tea, the electricity was off due to some fault as there were electricity cuts during those days. And now there was complete dark in the room. As aunty left to brought the candle🕯️me and my cousins took the advantage of black out and throw our hands into the plate and engulfed all the pieces of barfi before she arrived with a candle. As she stepped back into the room the electricity came and aunty glanced straight into that plate. She started laughing loudly with her husband and our mouths were shut with the barfi. It was really an awkward but a funny and an unforgettable moment for us.

Memories of our childhood were the dreams that stayed with your after you woke.

There are many more memories....if you have any funny memory please share in the comment box.
