Sydney Town, where Australia’s European History began…

Sydney. Here is a city I’ve never spent time to describe but here is a city I like to call home.

5 months ago I had a life threatening accident here. I will not go into deep detail but I’m sure in time you will understand more. In any case it is now my turn to tell you and the world about Sydney.

I have been to a total of 35 countries and the truth is there is no perfect place to settle. Sometimes places are built on friendships and other times rampant with corruption or injustice. Sydney is a friendly place.

As the towers are nullified by the expansive harbour, you realise one thing. There is life here. The streets are a buzz that could only be matched by one other Australian city, Melbourne.

Sydney had a “leading the popularity contest” style of thinking of itself. When you become the largest and most powerful city in the country hedonistic styles of thought reign!

However, Sydney has a confidence but I personally believe there are few cities to rival its integrity. It has a host of things, beaches, multicultural societies, a harbour, towers, businesses and a crazy thing called people.

It is a city for wandering and discovering. Do not spend too much time in only Darling Harbour or Circular Quay where a host of tourists flock.

There are nice suburbs like Manly or Redfern to explore a little. There is more than just the inner city like so many cities suffer. Explore these little suburbs and you will find great coffee shops and neat new galleries.

I would give you a MUST DO! The truth is Sydney is not so simple. You gain different things from unique places and you must explore as much as possible and tailor it to your desires.

Sydney is a city where you can truly find your niche to explore. It is like a mini New York or London. There is certainly not a breadth of history (founded by Europeans in 1788). However there is a host of modern day sites to explore.

A must do (MAYBE AND IF YOU HAVE TIME) is Cockatoo Island if you feel like exploring something a little odd. It’s clear, this is a city to explore and differs from places where there is this tower or that site. In Sydney there is a multitude to see.
