Your blog gave me causee to remember two (ancient) periods in life which were importasnt for me.

When I was preparing for A-level exams, and again 4 years later when facing Uni finals, t’Internet didn’t exist, but there WERE a lot of potential physical distractions lurking.

On both occasions I packed ALL my books (plus a change of clothes!) into a rucsac, added a tent, and headed for an isolated camp site where I spent the last fortnight before exams in perfect, sweet solitude. I deliberately didn’t even take a tranny radio with me (this also pre-dated mobile phones) so the isolation was TOTAL.

Unintended (but very welcome) plus: I learnt a lot about Myself!
