Cook. Eat. Rejuvenate.

A month ago, I went back to cooking after a 6-month hiatus. It’s an expensive investment as a single guy, but hence a fresh start to my lifestyle.
Just to be clear, I still dine out. I love the nightlife, exotic restaurants, complimentary wines, bars, and loud music.
Now that this is out of the way, I’ll talk cooking. I’m no chef. But I try to emulate their skillsets as mine from practicing. It’s enjoyable, and because I cook food for myself only, things are done quick because of simplicities I choose that gives me the right nutrients I need with a twist. It’s my version of this-and-that. No one can judge.
You can only judge if you cook. Ha.
Anyways, grocery shopping is expensive here! I only try to buy the best with reasonable pricing, but if I was to buy the same thing back home in US, I’m paying almost an extra 15 to 25 dollars depending on what I want to have for dinner that day and onward. Then why not buy something in discounted prices, if those are okay? I do that. But very few things, based on their manufacturing and production process, I steer away as far as possible.
By the way, I’m on a diet.
My stomach fats must burn down to hell.
I’m exercising 4 to 6 times a day to first get lean, then tone up with muscles, and balance my food consumption for better digestion, diet, and generate energy to live my version of a healthy lifestyle. The joy of cooking kinda make this whole process very therapeutic, and it’s a good way to study how YOUR body works.
I’m just not that bored with life because of it. There’s always things I find to do to constantly improvise.
Because there are some unfavorable costs pending on certain items I buy, I try to recalculate the very value of the item by either removing it off the cart but instead replace it something else that’s better well-spent, and/or get something that widens your options a bit more. Yesterday, I replaced baby cabbages and with mushrooms. Price was similar, and mushrooms are damn good for you. ‘nuff said.
After buying the necessary ingredients, I’m spending about 30–40% less, and buying in small portions always helped keeping the overall costs down.
All of this sorta made be balance other things, especially the process of thinking about things in general. There’s a sense of clarity and a logical drive that you want to get at, and I feel it.
I still hope they keep the costs down somehow if they can.
