My Andela challenge #1
Martin Luther King Jr once said that a man`s measure is not where he stands in times of comfort and convenience but where he stands in times of challenge and controversy. That's why i love to challenge myself and push my limits. Joining Andela for me was like walking through a dark staircase only seeing one stair at a time and believing the next one will come only if I am determined to always challenge myself, learn, improve what I learn and do it all over again, this is the only way I would grow and be the kind of man I want to be. The day had a sort of slow start as my internet connection was failing and my ISP couldn't fix the problem in time for the 11:00Am group call so I had to miss it which resulted to but I got assistance from my facilitator and was walked through the process allowing me to catch up.
That set aside I spent time trying to understand Pivotal tracker which I hadn't used quite understood till today. At first it seemed strange because I had not quite figured out how it works but after going through some of the tutorials sent with the project document and a few pointers from my peers I got the gist to it.
Working with Git was also a challenge though I have used it before. I learnt that I have been using it wrong after going through the learning resources and consulting my peers, this got me excited and am hoping to apply these new concepts in future. Though I still feel I need to improve on it.
Saving the worst for last, finally after spending so much time on research I learnt how to make wire-frames. The funny thing is I always drew them in my previous projects but never knew what they were called or even if they had a name, I just did it to make my work easier in designing user interfaces, this was definitely the most exciting part of my learning experience during this challenge. I am really looking forward to the next challenges, hopefully I will learn as much as in this challenge.
