When using Ledger Live on mobile and desktop, you might encounter syncing issues when there’s a problem with Ledger’s blockchain explorers or network. This will lead to your accounts showing the wrong portfolio or asset value in Ledger Live.

There are several ways you can troubleshoot this issue and sync Ledger Live on your computer or smartphone successfully.

  1. Ledger Live for Windows 10/11
  2. Ledger Live for MAC
  3. Ledger Live for Android

Here’s what to do

Solution 1: Update your Ledger Live app

In rare cases, updating your Ledger Live app can help fix syncing issues.

To do this

● Open your Ledger Live software on your computer. If there’s an update available, you’ll see it as a notification on top of the screen.

● If you’re using Ledger Live mobile, you can update the app in your AppStore or PlayStore.

Solution 2: Update your Ledger device firmware

If your Ledger device firmware is outdated, you are missing the latest security updates and features. This can affect the performance of your Ledger device with Ledger Live on both mobile and desktop.

So, updating your Ledger device firmware can do the trick of fixing syncing issues on Ledger Live, making everything function appropriately with the latest features and security updates.

To do this

● Open the Ledger Live app on your computer and connect your hardware device. Navigate to the manager section.

● On top of the screen, you’ll see a notification banner displayed. Click on “Update firmware” on the top right corner of your screen to begin the firmware update process.

● Once the process has finished and you have updated your Ledger firmware successfully. You can start installing apps back on your Ledger device again.

Solution 3: Update the app of the crypto asset

If you are experiencing syncing issues on Ledger Live leading to the balance of your assets displaying incorrectly, you should try to update the app of the crypto asset.

For instance, if you can’t see the balance of your Ethereum account, you should update the Ethereum update on your Ledger device.

Here’s how to do this

● Open the Ledger Live app on your computer.

● If there are app updates available, you will see a notification bar on top of the screen once you enter the Ledger Live app.

● Click on the “Update all” button in the notification to have all outdated apps on the Ledger device updated automatically. Wait for the process to finish.

Now, you have successfully updated the crypto assets app on your Ledger device.

Solution 4: Clear cache in the Ledger Live app

Transactions from your Ledger device are downloaded from the blockchain networks to display in Ledger Live and stored on your computer as a cache.

Clearing the cache on Ledger Live will force the software to redownload the full transactions from the blockchain networks, which will likely fix the syncing issue in Ledger Live.

To do this

● Click on Settings in Ledger Live

● Navigate and click on the Help tab.

● Click the Clear button beside the clear cache.

● Confirm to clear the cache.

● Now, Ledger Live will reopen the dashboard and resyncing transactions from the blockchain networks.
