I completely agree. I hate the Electron experience.
Native is the way to go for an amazing user experience. Everything about the user experience suffers when you use Electron. It’s so laggy and does not feel natural.
How an app feels is subconscious — that’s why you can make a quick opinion on an app within seconds upon seeing it (and experiencing it).
In my own apps I see 9% of my users close the app within 3 seconds, and 49% close the app within 30 seconds (and never open it again).
Creating high quality software requires attention to detail, and that’s something web developers (turned app developers) tend to ignore with their “write once” mentality —writing once doesn’t work between different platforms (i.e.: you need to customize the experience to each platform).
