Technological unemployment has been anticipated for a long time. There were computer scientists in the 60s that saw it as inevitable.
It’s actually a core of the plot in my upcoming novel, The Internet President: None of the Above. The competition for jobs will only get more intense and many of these problems show up even before the robots come in great numbers.
