Working From Home is Never Worth It
Rosamund Lannin

THANK YOU THANK YOU. The blithe comments so far totally prove your point about the “I love it! I do whatever I want!” crowd, lol.

I spend the day somehow oscillating between overworking and underworking, and then end up drinking too much coffee and stress-eating the entire fridge. If I make it to a yoga class, I spend the whole time thinking about the unanswered messages waiting for me on Slack and stay online til 8 to compensate.

I totally envy people with flexible or remote schedules for getting to sleep in, but as a manager I’m glad it’s not an option for my team — for me personally/productively, and for being able to get the face time with my direct reports. The reality is, if I had that option I would struggle to set boundaries.
