Dissecting that silly XKCD strip on free speech.

This comic strip is usually posted when some LOONIE screams “Censorship!” when Alex Jones or some other deplorable person has their facebook, youtube, twitter or other account closed down because of repeated violation of the Terms of Service.

For that particular purpose — to explain to loonies that First Amendment does not protect anyone if a private corporation blocks their account — it works well.

Just look at how many words you had to write to (attempt to) make it right. The loonies are not capable of understanding such long texts — they are, after all, fans of Alex Jones or some other conspiracy theorist.

The bottom line is: If Facebook or other company kicks you out, or if I or your friend kick you out of their house, they are perfectly within their rights and First Amendment has nothing to do with that.
