As a digital ethnographer focusing on UX research, I’ve had the unique opportunity to closely observe the development of AI generators of images and texts over the past two years. With the recent surge in the popularity of these tools, we must understand their impact on our society and approach them with caution and responsibility.

In recent years, AI has been the subject of much discussion, with many people expressing concerns about the potential consequences of this technology on our lives and jobs. However, this view could be more pessimistic and take into account the complete picture.

It’s our responsibility to ensure that AI is fed with diverse and inclusive data, to broaden its knowledge and perspectives, and to guide it in the right direction.

Instead of viewing AI as a threat, let’s see it as a gifted, genius, and miraculous child that we must nurture and guide. AI is a tool created and fed with information, data, and context by humans. Without our input, it can become too simplified or repetitive, as demonstrated by the example of Midjourney, a powerful AI image generator. If left without proper guidance, it can be limited in its output and repeatedly produce the same “Midjourney” aesthetics.

As UX researchers and designers, it’s our responsibility to ensure that AI is fed with diverse and inclusive data, to broaden its knowledge and perspectives, and to guide it in the right direction. By doing so, we can harness the power of AI to improve and enhance our lives rather than fearing its consequences.

The digital world is an unpredictable and ever-changing system, but we must remember that humans are just as complex and unpredictable. We must approach AI with caution and responsibility, viewing it as a tool that can improve our lives rather than a source of fear and concern.

As we continue to develop and advance AI, it’s essential that we approach it with an open mind and a nuanced understanding of its impact on our society. By nurturing and guiding AI, we can ensure that it becomes a valuable asset to our lives rather than a threat to them.

Join the movement to shape the future of AI and improve our lives. Get in touch with me today, and let’s work together to ensure that AI is developed with caution, responsibility, and inclusivity. Don’t be left behind — be a part of the solution and make a difference in the world of AI. Let’s harness its potential and create a brighter future together!
