Algorithmic Design App 1 Concept (IDD631)

Objective: Design an interactive 2D environment which represents my individual personality, desires, and sensibilities.

My passion for the art is not a modern art but a classic 8-bit computer graphic that I had seen in Nintendo’s video games such as Contra, Super Mario, Tanks, and more. Back to my childhood, accessing to a game console or a desktop computer was very hard. I remembered the first game I’ve played and how excited I felt. I want to recreate this 8-bit art by building from any graphic images or photograph.

For my Algorithmic Design App 1 concept, I would like to create an app that loads any image and turns it into 8-bit pixel art. Furthermore, users can draw their idea into the image. Users can pick a color from the color palette or select the RGB color mode for further creation. Finally, users can save their creation to image file.

To do this project, I have to use all methods and functions that I learned from the class. Also, I have to research in Processing Library to find a way to convert a color into a pixel block form and how to create a button for users to interact. The title for my project is “Your 8-bit pixel art.”
