I too remember that book long before Columbine. I also remember my friend built a pipe bomb using that book that took his life when he tested it. It’s easy to blame the book, but the deeper truth is that boys (almost never girls) are interested in pushing the limits when they’re young, including taking a lot of risks to their safety.

Aside from the weapons aspect of the book, I must say there was something thrilling about reading something the government doesn’t want you to know.
