What I learnt from living on a secluded island with no internet for a week

I went an lived on an island for a week, most of which was dedicated to a scuba course.
The absolute discovery that I had whilst there was that people on the island were more zen than probably anyone I know, they had next to little worry or anxiety in their every day lives and lived an almost eco friendly healthy lifestyle.
Most people wake up at 4 or 5 AM, a habit very very few can manage in the modern society and is said to be a millionaire habit.
Moving on to my key take aways from a week with next to no internet
- Conversations with your travel partners, are stronger, longer and indulging. Why you ask?
Well because they isn’t the chance of your phone buzzing and the conversation being either cut off or the person’s attention switching to their phone.
2. You realize that you don’t really need the internet as much as you thought you needed apart from the occasional “I wish I could google this right now”
3. You feel more present and connected with the nature around you as you focus less on your device and the social world but more at your surroundings
4. You realize how much time you actually have in a day and put in to better use by reading books, meaningful conversations, swimming or exploring places around you
“ Everyone should evaluate their social media duration on a daily basis”
5. Lastly you engage more with your current company than people in your lives miles away which can sometimes be a good thing.
Finally, the island which gave me such a enriching experience is called Havelok, Island and is located in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
If you want to try a scuba course while you’re at it, i recommend this place:
