In an inspiring tribute to the brave firefighters who risked their lives on September 11, 2001, Phil Cappadora Jr., the son of a 9/11 fireman, has embarked on a remarkable journey. For the past seven years, he has poured his heart and soul into developing a TV series that captures the essence of the FDNY during the 1990s, leading up to that fateful day and its aftermath. Now, alongside his nonprofit organization, the AFC (Astoria Filmmakers Club), Phil and a dedicated team of 30 volunteers are gearing up to present a compelling podcast play, “Fireland,” just in time for this year’s remembrance of 9/11.

“Fireland” is more than just a podcast play. It’s a labor of love, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and a way to ensure that the stories of these real-life heroes are never forgotten. Drawing from Phil Cappadora Jr.’s personal connection to the events, the series takes listeners on a journey through the lives, challenges, and sacrifices of FDNY firefighters during a pivotal era in history.

Through meticulously crafted storytelling, “Fireland” captures the camaraderie, dedication, and unwavering commitment of these brave men and women. As the series unfolds, listeners will be transported back to the 1990s, a time of change and anticipation, as the firefighters navigate their personal lives and face the daunting challenges that lie ahead. The poignant narratives not only shed light on the day-to-day struggles of these heroes but also offer a deep exploration of the unity and strength that emerged in the face of adversity.

Phil’s dedication to this project goes beyond artistic expression. With the AFC’s support, he has rallied a team of 30 passionate volunteers who share his vision of preserving history through powerful storytelling. Their collective effort has brought “Fireland” to life, offering audiences a vivid glimpse into the lives of those who selflessly served in the FDNY.

As the poignant anniversary of September 11th approaches, the “Fireland” podcast play stands as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by first responders. Through this innovative new medium of podcasting, Phil Cappadora Jr. and his team aim to honor the legacy of his father and countless others who valiantly answered the call of duty. Their story is one of heroism, unity, and a determination to ensure that bravery, in the face of adversity, is truly unforgotten.

Phil’s plan is to raise awareness about “Fireland” with the podcast play with the hopes of gaining the attention of other networks or steaming platforms to produce a three seasoned series. As a plan B, his nonprofit can distribute the film themselves on there latest project, AFCtv+, a free streaming platform that crowdfunds projects directly from the donors.

Join Phil Cappadora Jr. and the dedicated volunteers of the AFC as they embark on a journey to remember, honor, and celebrate the heroes who define the essence of courage.
